Following a bout of tuberculosis pneumonia that struck at age 28 and that almost left him for dead, Father Sebastian Kneipp (1821-1897) became interested in natural medicine and hydrotherapy (see). Every day he took a run to the banks of the Danube and threw himself naked into the icy water. The immersion lasted for only a few seconds. After the ice bath he dressed himself and continued his run, returning home. After six months he was cured. Kneipp had intuited that sudden and constant contact with cold water activates the immune and circulatory systems. And so it goes without saying that our “Dolce Vita Wellness & SPA” includes treatments and equipment like that prescribed by Kneipp, as well as the ice cascade and cold dip.
